Dear Colleague,

This month sees the release of three new titles in our popular book series Advances in Psychotherapy.

Did you know that the first edition of Bipolar Disorder was the most widely read book in the series? An updated edition of this highly acclaimed guide has just been released. And according to Associate Editor, Larry E. Beutler, PhD, “the authors of the new edition of The Schizophrenia Spectrum have done a remarkable job of making a complex topic into a simple and enjoyable read.” Finally, with Mindfulness comes a new strand to the series dealing with approaches rather than individual disorders.

Keep on reading this newsletter to find out about these and other new releases and the latest news from our journals.

Sincerely,

Your Hogrefe Publishing Team

Series Editor Danny Wedding, PhD, MPH:
“These books are succinct, structured, and grounded in science. They make pragmatic recommendations for clinical practice, and reading them will enhance your clinical skills. Two of the books in the series have just been updated to reflect the most current evidence on schizophrenia and bipolar disorder, and the new book on Mindfulness pulls together a vast and complex literature that has exploded over the past decade.”

New Editor-in-Chief for Zeitschrift für Psychology

Starting January 1, 2017, Edgar Erdfelder, Germany, has taken over as Editor-in-Chief of the journal Zeitschrift für Psychologie: “The Zeitschrift für Psychologie has a history of more than 125 years, making it the oldest psychology journal in Europe. Seminal ideas of outstanding scientists in the history of our field were first published in this journal – Karl Bühler, Kurt Lewin, Georg-Elias Müller, Hugo Münsterberg, Otto Selz, Charles Spearman, and Max Wertheimer, to name just a few. Moreover, since it became an English-language journal a decade ago, the journal has extended its scope and reach substantially and attracted influential papers of scholars from all over the world, covering virtually all fields of psychology. It is both an honor and a challenge to serve as the Editor-in-Chief of this journal with its rich tradition and its unique format. With the support of an excellent team of co-editors, we will continue to seek out timely topical issues from all branches of basic and applied psychology. I am thus confident that the Zeitschrift für Psychologie will have a flourishing future and continue to be an attractive outlet for psychologists around the world.”
